I have had the pleasure of
working with all these fine artists listed below. Each one
has captured Quest, Cochise and Dancer in his or her own
special style. To a person, they have been extraordinary
to work with and I can, without reservation, recommend
each one of them. You can occasionally find their work listed on ebay. Do a search
for "pet portraits" (without the quotes). To list them here is my small way of
saying "Thank You" and to expose their talent to
others. Enjoy!
Alma Borcuk
in her own words: Alma
Borcuk... is a self taught artist who started to
draw and paint at a very young age. Although her
favorite medium is transparent watercolor, she
creates paintings using other mediums - ink,
pencil, conte crayons and pastels, sometimes
combining mediums to create her own unique
artistic style. This, she does in order to always
evolve and flourish in her artistic endeavors.
She loves nature and so her favorite subjects are
drawn from nature - flowers, animals and natural
landscapes.
Her paintings are among collections in the United
States, Canada, Europe and Asia.

Sarah Fenner in her own words:
Art has been a passion
of mine for as long as I can remember. To me, it
is just an instinct to draw, paint or do
something creative. I work with many mediums,
including acrylics, oil, photography, and clay,
but my mediums of choice are chalk pastels and
pencil. Favorite subjects of
mine are pets and children, but I also have a
fondness for the occasional landscape or
abstract. I have had limited formal training in
pastels, watercolors and oil painting. So after
graduating from high school this spring (2004),
I look forward to attending college to obtain a
degree in fine arts and business management,
with the dream of one day owning and operating
an artist’s retreat. As a way of helping pay
for my college education, I offer reasonably
priced custom portraits.

Fran Frank in his own words:
I
was born Francis J. Frank in 1946 just outside of Utica, New York. I started playing music
at an early age and traveled all over the continental United States, Canada,
and Alaska. I did a one man show, playing keyboards, guitar, and
several other instruments. I also played with several famous entertainers,
such as Buddy Rich, Tiny Tim, Sergio Franchi, and others. Never far from an
easel and brushes, I painted for my own enjoyment. I left the hectic
musician’s life of being on the road for the IT Industry to build and
program computers, but was forced to retire in 2004, because of an accident
that caused blood clots in the major arteries in my arm. At the coaxing of
my wife and friends, I then pursued my dream of becoming a professional
artist on a full time basis, which has proven to be both therapeutic and
rewarding. I sell my work at dog shows, on the web, and through area
businesses.
I specialize in
animal portraitures that are done in either acrylics, or oils. However,
I am also proficient in the use of other mediums, such as pencils,
watercolors, and charcoals. My goal is to provide my clients with custom
works of art that are not only beautiful, but are affordable as well.

Jeanette
Garey in her own words: I am currently pursuing a degree in art, which I
love and plan to make my career. I focus my art
on wildlife. I love animals and enjoy portraying
them in my work... I began drawing at age 3. I
have won many awards in school for my work as
well as local and state art competitions...I
have many repeat buyers and also collectors... I
started my art business, Wild Art Studio in 2000
when I graduated high school. My focus with this
is to promote animal protection and conservation
through art. It is my hope that through art more
people will see the beauty of our world's
wildlife and work harder to protect it. I work
in almost all mediums but my favorite would have
to be pastel.

Isabella Groppali in her own words:
Nature
has always greatly inspired all kind of artists, it is well known. Looks can
fly over broad landscapes, open spaces, still or living manifestations. But
sometimes that same look can get lower, and address itself to Nature's more
humble and meaningless manifestations, as a stone can be. At my
look every stone has a unique and unrepeatable shape and suggests its own interpretation.
Being my love for dogs, first of all, and for all kind of pets and animals, is really
unconditioned and thankful for their being a constant source of joy, I try
to recreate in a stone, all around a stone, in a tri-dimensional painting,
their shape and their characteristics.
The medium I use is acrylic, which I protect at the end, with a final varnish
which makes the stone waterproof and more resistant.
I never studied Art, in fact I am Doctor in Foreign Languages and I teach.
Painting for me is an absolutely private matter, in the way I am able to do
it, but gives me a priceless joy.

Dennis Jones in his own
words:
A 1972 graduate of
Washington University School of Fine Art, I have
worked mainly as a graphic designer and
illustrator working in print projects most
of my career as well as producing major
multi-image audio-visual shows for sales and
management meetings. I've held art director and
creative director positions at several
companies, been a freelancer most of my time in
the field and had my own creative services
company with 20 employees.
My work as been
focused the past few years on portraits, caricatures,
and painting. I recently founded a non-profit
arts organization called The Family Art Studio,
Inc. The group creates family oriented special
events at schools and churches. Our mission
is to help build a greater sense of family and
community through the arts.I've found that
non-artists, people who never picked up a brush
can create incredible works of art with a little
help. Artwork that any professional can only dream
of making.

Olga Miller in her own words:
My
father and grandfather were both artists, and we
all lived together in one big home. They both
helped me get started at a very young age.
I was fortunate enough to have two studios to
work in, plus just about any medium I wanted to
try, with live-in instructors! I grew up in Sea
Cliff, Long Island. When my dad retired from his
job, we moved to Maine, where I've been ever
since. This state has been a great inspiration
for me, with it's diverse and beautiful scenery,
and abundant wildlife, a favorite subject. I
continued my art education at the University of
Maine at Augusta where I took a few art and
design courses. Most of my life has been devoted
to working outside my home & raising a
family (I have a wonderful husband, Henry, and a
grown boy, Bobby, who's a musical artist) but
recently I was able to finally spend more time
at my artwork. My favorite subjects are animals,
but I enjoy drawing & painting just about
anything! I believe art of all kinds touches
everyone, be they talented or not; it's what
makes life that much more fulfilling!

Pamela Payne
began
her artistic career even before she started
school. As they waited for her father to get home from
work, Pam and her mother would spread out a
blanket in the yard, and color pictures of the
sky and fields behind the house. As she got older, Pam’s portraits went from
ballerinas and fairytale characters to sunsets
and landscapes. But her favorite subject of all has always been animals,
which are the love of her life.
Pam
has passed along her artistic abilities to her
students at the ceramic shop she owned in the
80’s, and more recently to her oldest
grandson. Currently Pam creates custom pet portraits at her new
studio, Pawprints, in Willliamstown, Missouri.

Suzanne Powers in her own words:
I started painting portraits in 1981 in my home
town of Charleston, West Virginia. I was
fortunate enough at the time to catch the eye of
Sharon Rockefeller, wife of W.Va. governor John
D. Rockefeller IV (Jay). I was then commissioned
to render in pencil all 4 of their
children. My portrait business was off to a
roaring start! After living in the South East
for many years I took a trip to Phoenix, Arizona
where I settled a year later. That was in 1991
and I couldn't be happier. I started painting
people portraits as soon as I moved here but
with a twist. I thought it would be clever to
add Cowboy Hats and Bandanas to my subjects.
Needless to say it was a hit, especially with
the tourists. Soon after a customer came to me
with his Old English Mastiff and wanted me to
add the Hat and bandana. Eventually evolving
into the "Dogs of the West" Wanted
Poster series. 56 breeds dressed as cowboys. I
feel fortunate to have found this avenue to
market my images on many products.

Lori Sterling in her own words:
I am a self-taught artist that started drawing at
a very young age. I have always loved
animals and they have often been the subjects in
my portraits. My preferred medium is
graphite pencil, though I have recently started
adding color to my drawings as well. I
draw from photos, and offer any size from 3 X
5" up to 11 X 14".
I work hard to draw a lifelike portrayal
of each of my subjects, and to capture each
animal's unique expression with the most detail
possible. In addition, I donate a portion of all my pet portrait
proceeds to pet rescue and adoption and
I have sold portraits both throughout the
US and internationally.
I also draw baby and child portraits,
with a portion of the proceeds going to NNEDV
and other organizations to help fight domestic
violence and child abuse.

Joy Wooley in her own words:
I received my BFA in Art and an All-levels
Teaching Degree from Sam Houston State
University in 1975. I taught Art in the public
schools of Texas for three years and then got
married. Moved to northeast Louisiana and taught
in the private schools for four more years. I
retired [nice way of saying I quit] from
teaching and started painting full time. Been
painting ever since. But I have other interests.
I love to collect... I love to cook, watch
movies and scratch in the dirt, in my
flower-beds.
